More about me

I am a paediatric certified, Registered Nurse with 35 years experience. I am also mother to my two extraordinary man-sons.

My nursing experience ranges from acute care in paediatrics and paediatric intensive care in Australia, Saudi Arabia. and the UK; infection prevention and control; education; immunisation; aged care consultancy; quality assurance; research; policy; and national hospital guideline development.

My motherhood journey began at the turn of the century, Having nursed and cared for hundreds of babies and children, I thought it was going to be a breeze. I couldn’t have been more delusional!

My first son had a traumatic entry into the world, followed by feeding and sleep issues. My second son was born by emergency Caesarean section, however he slept better, fed easily, and toilet trained quickly. In both cases I experienced prolonged PTSD and post-natal depression.

If I knew then what I know now, and if I’d had my own Mama Coach to reach out to, my journey would have been a lot different. My mission is to prevent other families experiencing the struggles that I did, so they can enjoy those short, precious, crazy early years with their babies.

In my spare time I enjoy karate, riding the waves at the beach on my boogie board, travel, good food, and putting the world to rights over a bottle of wine with my besties.

Frequently Asked Questions

Good question!  We are called The Mama Coach because years ago, when our founder Carrie’s first boy was very small, she often wondered out loud, “Where is my Mama Coach?” and “I need a Mama Coach!”.  Carrie searched and searched for qualified support and realised this was lacking in her community.

We recognise that our name can give the impression that we only serve Mums, but that isn’t true. If you are a struggling Dad, or pair of Dad’s, we are here for you too. ALL families are welcome here. We will continue to work to ensure this message is clear. All parents carry a heavy load and deserve support. The Mama Coach is the answer you’ve been searching for.

We get asked this one all the time.  As Registered Nurses, having merely one method does not align with how we were trained in University to utilise the Nursing Process

Simply put, we will assess your child using our nursing training to determine the best way to help your family reach their goals, walking beside you all the way.  You can choose us with confidence, knowing you have picked the most qualified resource to support your family’s journey.

Yes.  As Registered Nurses, we have years of training on where to access credible guidelines and information. All of our programming is based on extensive research from credible sources, and is continually updated.

As Registered Nurses, it is our professional and legal obligation to manage client records and confidential information properly.  We use an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) that is compliant throughout Australia.  Even though we share the same brand, we are all independent Registered Nurses with our own private practices. As such, we each have our own EMR that is private and secure. We do not share EMR or client information between one another without your consent.
